Ben Houchin for Lancaster County Sheriff
33 Years of Keeping Lancaster County Families Safe
Ben Houchin has spent his whole career here, answering the call when it matters most. His promise: the best trained deputies in Nebraska, so when you call, help is ready.
Meet Ben Houchin
He didn't come here for a job. He built his life here.
Responding to calls, keeping us safe, and taking criminals off Lancaster County streets.
Ben joined the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office in 1993, straight out of Nebraska Wesleyan, and finished first in his academy class.
He rose through every rank, from deputy to sergeant to captain to chief deputy, and spent 25 years leading the tactical team through the county's most dangerous calls.
Along the way he built the units that fight crime for us: the fugitive task force, the I-80 drug interdiction team, and the digital evidence unit.
